Tomorrow will be the last day of the first semester at school here in Copenhagen. My flight will be off at 17.30 tomorrow, and I’m heading back home to Helsinki for almost a month. It feels kind of weird to go back for such a long time and taking a check-in luggage instead of just a carry-on.
The time has literally flown during these past few months. I can still remember the feeling in my gut when I stepped out of the airport with my whole life packed in two suitcases. Everything was so new, so scary and striking. I remember the first day of school, biking down Nørrebrogade being super nervous whether I would get any new friends or not. Didn’t take too long before I met the loveliest people and the nervosity was long gone.
A lot has happened after that day, and I have both learned a lot of this city and about myself. I’ve learned how I really handle tricky situations, learned how to take responsibility and a lot more. In just a few months! I think it’s absolutely astonishing how much new stuff you can learn about yourself in such a short period of time.
Although I’ve been more than happy of my new life here so far, I’m so glad to go home for a while now. To have time to properly spend time with my family, friends and boyfriend without having to rush through the days. I believe I will return back to Copenhagen well-rested (not to mention our exams in mid-January that I need to study for…) and motivated again for the second semester.
